I'm quite sad that Cyan Worlds is now more or less a defunct studio. In the early/mid/late '90s they seemed to have such good pace releasing games and expanding on the MYST universe. MYST, Riven, and Exile are all dear games to my younger years, I played them religiously and when I was younger, taught me so much about logic and problem solving. -- They also inspired me to be creative, and may have sparked my early interest in becoming an artist.
Even though everything after Riven was commissioned and mostly developed outside of Cyan, I really wonder why Rand Miller and Cyan didn't pursue more games to keep their portfolio growing? Obviously I don't know their whole story, but surely the studio would've grown more had they pursued more ambitious projects either with the Myst universe or new games/stories entirely? (I was always interested to see what Cyan could've come up with outside of the Myst games.)
It's disappointing to see such an iconic studio of my childhood be reduced to making really generic iOS app games, all the while resting on their laurels to remind you they were the studio that made MYST some 20 years prior. I like to think I could've worked for them some day! Where'd their ambitions and creative juice go?
Anyway, awesome logo. The book/pen/Y is just so amazingly clever.
(Other things I'm disappointed with the outcome of: LucasArts.)
